the sumary is pretty simple here it is :
Alona Dare was the most popular girl in her high school class, or at least she was until she was run over by a school bus. Returning to the scene of her death as a ghost, she anticipates overwhelming grief at her untimely death. To her surprise, her classmates quickly move on. Not only that, but weird outcast Will Killian can see and hear her. Alona, used to getting her own way, haunts Will until he agrees to help her figure out how to progress from ghosthood to the big white light that she keeps expecting. Will has problems of his own; namely that every ghost in Groundsboro High, including a seething black mass of energy, now knows that he can see them, and they all want him to carry out their last wishes. Will and Alona have to work together to get the ghosts to stop tormenting Will, and to figure out exactly what Alona has to do in order to move on from this world. Their new relationship is full of surprises as they each experience a side of the other that neither expected. This tale of friendship from unexpected corners shows how two people can grow tremendously over time.
Will looks so annoyed and Alona looks so triumphant, it puts a smile on my face.
WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT IT
i for instance loved Alona's character, what can i say i love it when girls are deliberately mean, because i never get to hear much of it, and turst me people, we all have our Alona Dare inside, at least i do, even when we almost always ignore that mean little voice, and let kindness take control, its there, accept it, move on.
Will, i liked him too, he really isnt much of a goth just a guy who has had alot of crap dumped on his head over his life, and a pretty (and honest) undead three times prom queen trailing behind him 8even when she doesnt want that anymore than he does) isnt helping him blend in, i felt pity for the poor guy, he isnt much of a fighter and Alona is the opposite, she likes to attract attention and he avoids it, seriously Will got knocked around too much for my liking, he isnt a bad guy so miss(ter) big black energy should have been dealt with sooner, the funny thing is that from Will's point of view his life looked a little gloomy, and from Alona's his life looked crappy, so i really wished he would have been less reclutant to Alona's help.
and dont get me started on the cool cover...
Alona did i mention i love her?, i was laughing so hard when she figured out she had to think happy things to stay in the earth plane, because it was so not Alona to say good things, and i was like "sure who wants to compliment a bad hairdo", ok i might be a little on Dare's side, the hilarious part is that she isnt afraid of going to extremes to get what she wants, and at some point during the book i thought that if Alona had used her what i want i get superpower for the sake of good then maybe things might have diferent, but i wouldnt have changed her personality, she can come out as selfish but i understand i mean she kinda had it hard at home under the highschool queen facade and had to look out for herself most of the time, so thinking in others when nobody thinks of you, yeahh that can make you selfish.
i like how Will and Alona develop a frienemy agreement over the ghost harrasing him, and then they get to know eachother, and i wanted to say "see it wasnt so hard", because both develop a friendship, ok it was hard, being Alona Dare who we are talking about here, but towards the end of the book they realize they might or might not be so diferent, (ok dificult to be frieds with the undead but hey who said Willy had it easy?), i loved most of Will's lines, especially when he says Alona's head looked like a lolipop disappering when he first saw her in her ghost state....i wont say anymore cuz i might spoil more but let me say this is one of the few books i have no complaints about!!!!
